'I'm Just a Bill' Episode |
This week's episode ended in a bloody fight losing one of my favourite characters in the show. So long Jake (Scott Foley), been rooting for you since your debut on the show and to die in the hands of your ex girlfriend's lover sounds poetic to me though.
The episode continued from the last scene of 'honor thy father,' episode. Rowan helping himself to Olivia's wine with a gun behind his back, maybe in case Olivia pulls a gun on him again.
Rowan hypothetical tells her that a group of people are building a case against him claiming that he's the head of B613, he wants to shut it down but he prefers Olivia to do it herself since Fitz will be involved too. He gives her 48hrs but Olivia makes it clear that she won't help him, and he then realizes that she doesn't care for Fitz anymore and tells her he hopes she'll do the right thing. Rowan leaves Olivia alone with Russell who is tied up and drugged. Seriously Rowan, is there any guy Olivia is involved that you haven't threatened?
Olivia unties Russell and pretends to be drunk, but Russell couldn't recall what happend. Olivia meets up with Jake, David, Huck and Quinn to tell them of her father's threat, David tells them they'll have to move immediately and asks Olivia if she's sure she wants to go through it but the hatred she feels for her father tops everything.
Meanwhile at the White House, Fitz and his team are trying to secure votes to pass the Brandon Bill which they have but unfortunately one of the senators goes into labour leaving the Vice President Susan Ross with the decision to vote. When Ross made it clear that she won't be a puppet she meant it and tells Cyrus that she won't vote until she reads the bill, all 1200 pages of them.
Back to the main plot, Marcus Walker, the activist in 'The Lawn Chair' episode is running for Mayor against the sitting Mayor Verrano and seems to be leading in the poll. Olivia and co. arrive at the Mayor's house because Marcus called them. The team finds Marcus covered in blood sitting next to the dead Mayor's wife. They were having an affair and he was hiding in the closet when three masked men came in and killed her. Olivia gives Marcus an option, go to the police and ruin his career or cover it up. He chooses the latter. I must say that I found Huck's method disturbing, mutilating the body to fit into a suitcase and cleaning up the crime scene, gross but effective.
Olivia goes to the police station because Marcus was pull over and taken in questioning. Knowing it was a political ploy, she threatens them not to reveal Marcus' presence in the station since the department is under investigation for the Brandon murder. The team discovers that someone is trying to set him up for the murder. Their investigation led to the discovery of the Mayor's involvement in his wife's murder. She blackmails the Mayor into pulling out of the race and endorsing Marcus. They agreed until the last minute when he publicly accused the Mayor of murdering his wife.
Meanwhile, Ross is holding everyone up with questions regarding the bill, even Cyrus couldn't do anything about it. Millie and David try to convince but fails. Fitz tries his luck but she tells him she will not be swayed by anyone. She also admits that the Bill is meaningless so Fitz decides to work with her to amend the bill while Millie announces her run for senate.
Olivia finally tells Rowan she wont stop the investigation. Rowan tells her he's proud of her and reminds her there will be consequences going against him. Jake receives a text from Olivia to come to the office. He's attacked by a masked man who is later revealed to be Russell, Olivia's lover, and you can guess that didn't end well for Jake.
