"You Can't Take Down Command," Episode |
The season finale of scandal is just too great, in fact it has to my best season finale ever! No one died (Thank God for that) and no cliffhanger.
The episode opens with a conversation between Millie and Rowan. Rowan innocent at first, praises Millie for her ambition to run and then presents her with a file aka Pandora's box which basically detailed the dirty and scandalous secrets of her and Fitz- mostly her affair with the ex Vice President, Andrew and of course the Reddington mission. Rowan trades his silence for one thing in return, 'a list.'
It's the D-day for Rowan, Jake and Olivia to take down B-613 with Jake's testimony. Rowan questions Jake in the presence of 16 Juror and everything is going as planned until Huck informs Olivia that the Jury was assassinated in the bus, on their way home. Apparently, the list Rowan asked for contains names of the Jury present at the hearing.
Rosen who was persisted to take down B-613 surrendered and handed the files over to Olivia, "I live for Justice, but I don't want to die for it," he said.
Millie starts panicking and is questioned by Liz who was the one that helped her get the list. She goes to see Cyrus and tells him she's responsible for the death of the Juror. Cyrus gets angry and accuses her of been selfish but when she mentions 'Reddington,' Cyrus realises who is behind it and tell her he will handle it.
Olivia who is already running out of options to take down B-613 goes to the only person who has ever won against her Rowan, her mother, Maya Pope but he assures her that you can't take him down because no one know he exists. Olivia takes the B-613 files to the CIA who at first decides to pursue it until Cyrus gets involved. The CIA arrest Jake and Olivia.
After been blackmailed by Cyrus who threatened him with Abby should he fail to cooperate, he meets Olivia and Jake and gives them a paper to sign, denying the existence of B-613 and never talk about it again. Jake agrees to sign if Olivia does. Rosen warns Olivia that if she doesn't sign the freedom of Jake, Huck and Quinn will be at risk, she signs it.
Rowan calls Olivia to gloat on his latest victory, she vows to take him down no matter what but he tells her that Commander no longer exists because he has decided to clean house- he gets rid of the agents who know his identity and destroys the files that will incriminate him and for one final clean up, Cyrus releases Maya Pope on the condition that she will deny and never talk about B-613. "Commander doesn't exist anymore," he tells her.
Quinn is angry with Olivia for taking the deal, she tells her she didn't have a choice. Quinn reminds them that they still have the 2Billion dollars they stole from the organization's account. The police arrive at the Minestona where Rowan works and arrests him for embezzling from the museum.
Back at the White House, Millie wins the senate seat and Liz accidentally snitched on Millie and tells Fitz about the meeting she had with Rowan. While celebrating her victory with Fitz and Cyrus, she starts making plans to running for President then Fitz drops the boomshell, "You'll think I'll let you be the President after what you did," he said. He tells her he knows everything and kicks her out, of the White House. Cyrus who was involved didn't go Scott free because Fitz fired him and replaces him with Liz, surprisingly.
Quinn confronts Huck about the murder of the Jury because she knows Huck's signature when killing his victims. Huck tells her he didn't have a choice but she is convinced that Huck is an animal that can't control his urge to kill and needs to be put down. She points the gun at him and Huck begs her to pull the trigger.
Jake escorts Olivia to her apartment and tells her his mission is complete. She tires to convince him to stay but he tells her that he's in love with her but she still loves Fitz. He convinces her to take a chance and go get what she wants. Fitz goes to Olivia's apartment but she's not at home so he goes back to the White House and guess who is his surprise guest is? Olivia!
Fitz: You're here.
Olivia: I'm here.
Fitz: What happens now?
Olivia: Whatever we want.
The scene ends with Olivia and Fitz kissing on the White House balcony.
I was kind of disappointed that Almighty Command was taken down with an old fashioned embezzlement, what a way to end a legacy!
What's next for Millie now? Well she can kiss the White House goodbye but i feel indifferent about her decision to give Rowan the list, don't know what I would have done if I was in her shoes.
Maya Pope is out of Prison, they locked up a tiger and unleashed the tigress, I don't know who's more terrifying. One would hope her maternal instincts would kick in and decide to be a mother to Olivia but that's just wishful thinking.
Olitz is officially back on! Though I'm team Jake, couldn't help myself when I watched that scene, I'm a weak soul and a sucker for Romance!
