With Jacs out of the way, Franky is now the Top Dog of Wentworth but will reign for long?

The season takes off three months after Bea killed Jacs. She's sentenced to 12 years for manslaughter and has been confined since then due to her mental state. Franky is now the Top Dog and has resumed her drug smuggling business which is going smoothly so far. Erica resigned as Governor after the incident and is replaced by Joan Ferguson who is described as a tyrannical and archaically minded officer everyone should watch out for, even the officers.

Her first day as governor, she catches one of Franky's girls, Sky Pierson, trying to smuggle drugs and is sent to solitary. She tries form an alliance with Franky which she decline thereby causing trouble in prison by sending a video to the press of two girls brutally beating each other on Franky's order, blaming them for the consfication of the drugs.

Ferguson knowing that she wouldn't be able to control Franky decides to do whatever it takes to dethrone her as the Top Dog. She realizes that the only person Franky is threatened by is Bea who is constantly dosed with sedatives in confinement. She orders her release to join the rest of the inmates, some who are glad to see her. Franky aware of Ferguson's plans physically threatens Bea, reminding her that's she's in charge.

Bea however, starts planning her revenge to kill Brayden, for the death of her daughter, Debbie. She tries to get her husband Harry, to kill him as a condition to sign their divorce papers but he chickens out so she decides to take matters in her hands. She befriends Jacs' second in command, Simone, when she saved her Boomer's attack, ordered by Franky. She lures Bradyen by telling Simone that she wants to apologize to him for killing his mother, instead she tries kill him but fails. Ferguson decides to work with Bea to remove Franky and help Bea be Top Dog to gain control of the prison.

The show reaches it climax when Franky and Bea go head to head with each other; winner will be crowned Top Dog of Wentworth and Bea comes out victorious and dethrones Franky. When the fight was over she cuts herself in other to be transferred to a hospital outside prison where she manages to escape under Jackson's watch. Her mission: to find Bradyon and kill him. She seeks out Liz who's out on parole and retrieves a package (a gun) she got.

She goes to Bradyon's establishment to kill him but Jackson gets there in time to stop. When everything seems to be over as Bae changes her mind, but she shoots him in cold blood when she sees the evil grin on his face. The police arrests both Jackson and Bea. Bea returns to Wentworth and is applauded by the inmates.

It's going to be war zone in season 3 now that Bae is Top Dog. She has gotten her revenge and has a lot of time on her hands planning her moves against Ferguson. Ferguson is a sadist, manipulative and likes to be in control of the situation. This time she was outsmarted by Bea in season 2. As for Franky, what will be her next move to dethrone Bea and be in charge? For one, Bea is favoured by majority of the inmate so in terms of popularity, Franky loses.
