This year for TV shows has been a surprising one. Both new and ongoing. This is my OWN list of best TV shows of 2014
10. If Loving You is Wrong
This show is created by Tyler Perry based on his 2014 movie, Single Mom's Club. It focuses on the relationship of Five women and their husbands. It's an interesting journey filled with suspense, deceit, and betrayal. Although I hope they will improve on the acting skills of the cast to make it more believable. Other than that Kudos for the brilliant writing and hope to see more drama next year.
9. Orphan Black
Season two of orphan black is not as explosive as the previous season but still kept me at the edge of my seat. This season we get to meet Cal Morrison, one of Sarah's past lovers who also happens to be Kira's father, Proletheans; a religious cult who is against science and also a threat to Sarah and co. I'm really anxious to see what happens next year.
8. The Good Wife
The Good wife, the only show that keeps my glued to my TV. This season shines the light on Cary Agos, a partner of Florrick/Agos who is arrested by the FBI for allegedly coaching a drug dealer on how to transport drugs without been detected. But that's just foreplay by the FBI with intend to pressure him to give up Lemond Bishop. Alicia is running for state attorney but it's not going be easy. And Kalinda Sharma played by Archie Punjabi is leaving the show. How will the firm survive without their skilled and efficient private investigator. The question now is: Will Cary survive the FBI and Lemond Bishop? Will Alicia win the election? How will the writers play Kalinda's departure? Will she be killed off or walk away? And this I don't want to believe but is Peter cheating on Alicia?? Again???
7. Stalker
Any work of Kevin Williamson is worth watching. Stalker is a psychological police procedural drama. Starring Dylan McDermott as Jack Larsen and Maggie Q as Beth Davis who work in a Threat Assessment Unit to assess the threat level of cases and respond before the stalking and intimidation spirals out of control, all while trying to keep their personal obsessions at bay
6. Wentworth
This year we get to see Bea Smith transform from a weak disturbed woman who recently lost her daughter to Top dog of the prison, the position previously held by Frankie Doyle. This season also introduced us to Joan Ferguson played be Pamela Rabe, who is now the Governor.
I see a war coming in the future- the Top Dog vs. the Governor, who will be left standing? Find out in 2015.
5. Outlander
It's nice to watch another epic drama apart from Vikings and Game of Thrones. Outlander aired August 8, 2014 based on the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. the show focuses on Claire Beauchamp a World War II nurse who was transported from 1945 to 1743 in Scotland, going through series of unpleasant adventures but also finds herself in the presence of a dashing Highland warrior, Jamie Fraser.
4. Sons of Anarchy
How will we survive without seeing our favourite motorcycle club on TV. After seven seasons, Sons of Anarchy ended this year and what a satisfying ending it is. Though angry fans don't like the fact that Jax died but it think that's the only way he would find peace with all the violence and bodies piled up behind him. RIP Jax.
3. House of Cards
"One heartbeat away from the presidency and not a vote cast in my name. Democracy is so overrated".
This season, Frank Underwood spent his time manipulating and scheming his way to the top and guess what?? He succeeded. He is now the president of the United States, I don't know if this is happy or scary news. Let's hope Frank will be less ruthless next season, the train scene still gives me goosebumps.
2. Orange is The New Black
This year we got know more about our favourite characters especially Suzanne warren aka Crazy Eyes and her childhood days. we were also introduced to the prison's villain, Vee who manages to manipulate almost everyone to do her bidding even poor Susan. I hope to see her next season because I'm gradually becoming a fan of TV villains.
1. Homeland
My friends will be surprised about my first choice. Still fancy Orange is The New Black but hats off to Homeland for a brilliant, gasping season, it will be criminal if they don't win an Emmy. No doubt the best season so far.
