'A Few Good Women,' Episode |
Scandal no matter its ups and downs, will always have my respect when it comes to addressing sensitive issues and this week's episode, it's Olivia vs the Navy and it was one hell of a fight especially in a judicial system that has the upper hand.
For a shocking revelation, we finally know what Foxtail is and I don't know if I should be excited or scared. Know what Papa Pope is capable of doing, it makes one wonder if anyone is safe from him, even Olivia.
Jake is comfortably recovering in Olivia's apartment (lucky bastard), while Olivia goes to the apartment next door to check on the latest progress from Huck and Quinn. Russell is chained and been tortured by Quinn and Huck enjoying the scenario with a sick pleasure look on his face.
Olivia assures Russell that she's not going to kill him but by the time Huck and Quinn are done with him, he would wish they did.
Meanwhile back at the Whitehouse, VP Susan Ross visits the Navy and sees one of its female officers, with a bruise on her arm as they all salute. She questions the officers who reveals that she was raped by one of her superiors, Admiral Hawley, and knowing the VP, she returns to the whitehouse with the officer.
Fitz isn't pleased by her action and Cyrus? please give him a break, we don't want another heart attack incident like the last time and with the VP unpredictable actions, let's hope he doesn't. Fitz tells her that he can't do anything because the military have their own judicial system so Susan goes to the one person who doesn't give a damn about rules, OPA.
Olivia visits her client in the base but not all odds are in her favour because the Hawley is popular and well respected by other which will make it hard to prove otherwise. After her public statement about rape in the military, Olivia finally gets an audience with the Navy and sends a rookie,Travis Cobb, to represent their client. Their first day in court wasn't a successful outcome since the Navy is restricting them from getting evidence. The officer reveals to Olivia that she's pregnant and wants to get an abortion.
Meanwhile in the apartment next door, Russell isn't ready to cooperate and is even ready to die rather than telling them what foxtail is. Jake makes Olivia aware of this- Russell is just like him, he will never talk.
Jake goes to the apartment where Russell is been held and the two bond over a bottle of beer. Jake knows that Rowan knows that Olivia is aware that he's working for him, reminding her that he will always be watching and you can't 'take down command'.
With Fitz's intervention and Millie capitalizing on that opportunity, the Navy finally gives them access to the security log in files and discover the admiral's swap card shows he wasn't at the scene that day but Olivia proves otherwise and reveals that someone is covering up for him and with the video evidence they have, Hawley finally confesses to the crime. Even with the rookie lawyer she wins but no time for a victory dance when she sees the picture Travis Cobb, the rookie is actually a different person they've been dealing with in the past few days. The fake Travis Cobb, is one of the agents of Papa Pope who manages to drug Huck and rescue Russell.
The final scene shows Papa Pope face to face with Foxtail- MillieGrant which is the code name for the first lady and looks like he plans to donate to her campaign. Father meets daughter's lover's wife, so scandalous!
Papa Pope is always a step ahead of the Gladiator and his next plan of action includes the Whitehouse. He killed their son so what else does he want from them. The season finale airs next week and knowing Shonda Rhimes, it comes with an heart attack and a lot of exclamations.
