Scandal Season 4 Episode 18 "Honor Thy Father"

"Honor Thy Father" Episode

This episode gave us few surprises and even pulled an April fools joke on fans. It's nice to see the show crawling out of the hole of boredom it's been few episodes ago and into the light.

This episode had two major plots. First is the case the gladiators are working on involving a congressman trying to prove his father's innocence just days before his execution, and David trying to wind up witnesses to testify against B613.

 

The episode starts off with Olivia waking up next to the hottie (Russell), she picked up in the bar two episodes ago. Just when things starts off hot between these two, she gets a phone call from Congressman Reed for her services to find evidence to prove his father is innocent.

 

Apparently, his father, George, was convicted 15years ago for kill a teacher who was sleeping with his daughter. His daughter killed herself because she was heartbroken. Olivia goes to see Reed's father and from the conversation she realizes he wanted to take the fall for the crime. She sends her team to investigate and discovers Reed's sister wasn't the only victim of the teacher's sexcapades and only one will have the motive to kill him.

 

Olivia finds the teacher's wife but unfortunately she died weeks before but sends Quinn and Huck to search her house for evidence. They find a gun and tip off the police. The Ballistics report was a match but Olivia, thinking of how easy it was to find the evidence confronts the Congressman. Reed tells Olivia that he was the one that killed the teacher and his father was only protecting him and he feels guilty that his father will be executed for his crime. He later confesses that exenorates his father.

 

Back at the White House, Millie's sister, Harmony, comes to see Millie and it's not a pleasant atmosphere with those two in the same room and it seems to be cheering up Cyrus who has be looking for ways to destroy Millie's ambition to run. Let's just say Harmony been Millie's sister, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I respect Harmony because unlike others, she kept Millie's secret and didn't try to make a few bucks out of it.

 

David, Huck, Quinn and Charlie are on board to taking down B613 but they need Jake who makes it clear to David that he won't get involved. Quinn and co. round up some B613 members who have worked with Jake to testify but were killed by the time Charles goes to check up on them. He sees Jake at the crime and tells Huck and co that they have to kill Jake or he kills them.

 

Huck and Quinn tracks Jake through his cell phone to take him out when they discover he's in Olivia's building. They rushed to her apartment to check up on her and it's safe to say she will be well taken care of by the hottie from the bar. Jake comes out of the apartment next door and threatens to kill Olivia if anything happens to him.

 

Unknown to them it's actually Jake that is protecting them because Rowan planted one of his agents in the David's office, his Secretary. She was the one that killed the B613 agents, Jake shoots her and assures David that he has always been on board and Rowan will send more people to kill them.

 

Olivia opens her door and finds Russell scared out of his mind standing next to Rowan. The show is taking a break and will be back in two weeks.
