"Put a Ring on it" Episode |
"Put a Ring on It" episode revealed information fans may have forgotten and not even bothered to ask. This episode focused on The Chief of Staff of the White House Cyrus Beene and his alleged love story and engagement with Michael, the male prostitute.
The episode begins with a phone call from Olivia to her team, Cyrus and Abby. Michael was caught in a gay bar having a great time with a male prostitute, photographed and exposed to the media (You had one job Michael!). Hours away from their 'fake' relationship been exposed, Olivia suggests they have a White House Wedding to debunk the rumours and Olivia sure knows how to spin a bad situation into a good one.
Michael's wild night apparently is his Bachelor party and with the help of Millie, the first lady, she announced to the public that Cyrus and Michael are getting married. Everything was going according to plan until the ex Vice president, Sally Langston, on her program, "The Liberty Report," condemn and accuses the Grant administration of planning a fake wedding to cover their dirty secrets and announced a $10,000 reward to anyone that has prove of the administration deceit to the public.
Olivia has not only has been battling to take control of the situation at the white house, but also herself when she keeps having dreams or it could be called a nightmare also, of her past days with Fitz and running on the hallway with a gun when she was kidnapped. The Flashback also revealed that the ring Fitz gave her belongs to his grandmother with words that means 'sweet baby' inscribed on it, taking us back to the first episode of the show 'Sweet Baby,' now it makes perfect sense.
Olivia isn't the only one reminiscing about the past. Flashbacks finally introduce us to Cyrus' first wife, Janet, who he stayed married to for 17 years, she leaves him when she discovers he's gay. It also showed his intimate moments of his second wedding day to James, his deceased husband.
Sally informs the public that she has proof that Cyrus and Michael are faking it and she has invited Philip Reed (Michael on and off lover) to her show. Olivia tries to persuade Sally to drop the interview and even offers her the position of the secretary of state, Sally didn't budge.
Olivia informs Cyrus of the alternative, accuse Michael of infidelity and be painted as the jilted lover with a broken heart making Michael the most hated man in the country. Cyrus didn't have a problem with the plan since he feels nothing but hate and disgust for Michael. Michael and Cyrus have dinner with Michael's parents who informs him that the reason they came for the wedding is because they're paying them to and his father considers him as a disgrace to the family. Turns out after the dinner debacle, Cyrus has a soul and decides to go forward with the wedding.
Olivia goes to meet Sally and warns her that if she goes forward with the interview, her husband's closeted secrets will be exposed because Michael's client list includes her husband's name. So Cyrus and Michael officially tied the knot but will it be an happily ever after experience? Only time will tell.
Something tells me that Olivia and Fitz constant gaze will not be the end of it. I admit I was teary seeing them together, even though it was through flashbacks. Perhaps the resumption of their affair will add more spice to the show and I am prepared for it!
